Store the hat in the freezer for at least 20-30 mins at -20°C (-4°F) to reach the ideal 'frozen' temperature. We recommend leaving it in the freezer so it's ready to use as soon as you feel a headache coming on.
For hot therapy, place the hat without bag in the microwave for as little as 10 seconds first. If more heat is needed, repeat using 5 seconds increments.

I bought a Thermax hat some years ago and was very happy with the quality. Recently i purchase a similar hat that looked exactly like the Thermax. I was very disappointed with the quality, itchy fabric, way slimmer so not keeping the cold temperature long enough. I recommend to go for the original and not a replica. Maybe a bit more expensive but the quality is definitely guaranteed...
I was pleasantly surprised at how good this felt. I have not had a full blown migraine, thankfully since I bought it so the true test is pending. Overall so far I am happy with this product. Blue color and fabric is SO NICE!

This is so good. It has the perfect amount of compression and cold for my debilitating migraines. This stays cold long enough. If I need to I can stick an ice pack under the sleeve and it stays in place. GO THERMAX!
I’ve suffered from migraines for over 20 years and often use ice packs to help, but they don’t stay in place and I have to move it around to hit all the areas that need it. This gives perfect compression, it is soft and hits all the headache spots, also stays where I need it when I toss and turn.

I tried this out , it’s so weird the feeling it gives, but it does help make pain go away. It is very relaxing.

Took a chance on this item. Was very pleased by how effective it was against my chronic headaches. This is a good one. Although it freezes my brain, it looses its "coldness" too quickly. Still worth every penny.
After many years of suffering from migraines, I've used ice packs that slipped off my head or didn't cover the affected areas very well. I love that I can be hands free and relax in bed wearing the thermax hat, or go back to sleep. I can also wear it while working from home and still get pain relief. I wish I had something like this years ago!
I am in love with this item!! My sister has one. I used it once and bought one the same day. It is so comfortable and can be worn in bed or around the house. Love love this. I will most likely keep mine in the fridge though. It gets pretty cold in the freezer.

Provides cool compression to alleviate migraine pain. Not sure how it provides the cooling, but I can attest to the fact that it does! I do not put it in the fridge or freezer, just keep it in my bathroom cupboard. It feels cool, blocks out all light, and provides compression pressure.
I didn't think it would. It is cold!! It was more comfortable than I thought it would be.
After opening the package, I placed in in the freezer. Later that day, I felt the migraine coming on. Got the cap out of the freezer, put it on and laid down to rest. Within an hour the headache was all but gone. Cooling to the head all around, the black color keeping out the light and the light feel to the skin, not heavy like a cloth rag, helped with the headache going away. Not sure if it will work with every headache, but I can try. Thanks
My wife suffers from migraines. I've purchased over a dozen hot/cold head wraps & compresses. This is the first one she says actually works well & stays in place when she moves. One thing to note is after she pulls it out of the freezer & puts it on her head the cold only lasts about 30min.

Finally a migraine hat that is comfortable and works. The soft gel material makes it comfortable to sleep in and the tightness of the compression helps with the throbbing pain. It doesn't stay cold for a long period of time like ice but the compression feels so good, I didn't mind.
This has been a lifesaver for me a few times. My only issue is that it is COLD and I wonder if keeping it in the fridge instead of the freezer is the best way to go. It's so comfortable and really ices all of the right spots during a migraine.

I like that this is not too tight and fits smoothly over my head. I was hopeful after reviewing other feedback that this would be how it fit. I can't imagine having something too snug on my head during a powerful headache. Most of my headaches are tension or sinus related, although I do have some that seem to come on more strongly and cause some nausea and other migraine-type symptoms. My only desire would be to have it stay cold longer. I am now planning to buy a second one to have in the freezer and pull out to wear when the first one is no longer cold.

I suffer from cluster headaches and migraines. I usually wake up in the middle of the night with a headache starting so now I go to my freezer take out the Thermax hat and go back to bed. It works so well I purchased 2 for my daughter who suffers from headaches also. It is better to get 2 because once the first one gets to room temperature you can put it back in the freezer and take out the second one. Using 2 usually does the trick for me.
When I get a migraine, I want to have my eyes covered but if you turn on your side, your compress falls off. Not only does this cover your eyes and cant shift, it gives soft, even pressure everywhere. When you get a migraine, the tiniest thing can feel like a sword in your skull and this material is wonderful!. I keep it in the freezer for when I need it. I have also had my son use it when his allergies kicked up.

I've had this for about six months now, and it is A LIFE SAVER. I have a rare brain disease that I've had 15 brain surgeries for and get daily head pain from. I bought this because of my migraines. It worked so well that I bought it as a gift for friends and family whom I know suffer from headaches. I keep it in the plastic ziplock that came in every time I place it in the freezer. The fit on my head is perfect, snug but not tight. I can keep it above my eyes, or if I prefer I slide it down to cover my eyes. It's pretty cold the first few minutes but then it feels as if it stays at a comfortable cold for approximately 15 mins, then starts to lose some of the cold. But I feel it's enough time to relax and soothe my head. An amazing pro is that there is no water leakage nor wetness as it happens with other types of icepacks.
